My interest in Magnet Therapy was sparked by two books; Brain Allergies by Dr. William Philpott MD and The Energy Healing Experiments by Dr. Gary Schwatrz. We are bioelectric systems which generate and respond to magnetic fields. If your grinning at the notion of using magnets to effect healing, maybe I can sell you a house located under a high tension electric transmission line?

Dr. Philpott is a pioneer in Orthomolecular medicine and outlines in his book how malnutrition, inflammation and allergies contibute to depression and other "mental" illnesses. The application of magnetic fields along with appropriate nutritional strategies is shown to impact depression, schizophrenia and autism according to Dr. Philpotts research.

Dr. Gary Schwartz PhD and William Simon are life scientists doing basic research on the bioenergtics of energy medicine at the University of Arizona. Due to the monolithic and hostile nature of allopathic medicine and the complex of publications, educational institutions and corporate patrons of "scientific" reasearch which feed at this trough, this research is unlikely to ever be published in the peer reviewed literature. As with Dr. Philpott's work, you have to seek this material out and work a little harder to find it.

The bottom line on Dr. Schwartz's work is that he has demonstrated in double blind laboratory experiments that the energy channeled by healers such as Reconnective, Reiki and other modalites, is actually a low frequency magnetic energy.
